This extraordinary design showcases an intricate array of colours, made possible through a unique Japanese silk marbling technique. The journey to uncover this remarkable technique spanned a decade, leading the brand to the Nose family in Kyoto, Japan, who possessed the skill to master this craft. Suminagashi, the art of floating ink, originally originated in 12th century Japan for marbling paper but eventually found its way to Europe and was applied to fabric. In 1963, the patriarch of the Nose family traveled to Germany to learn this art and reintroduce it to Japan. Today, they stand as the sole practitioners of this rare technique worldwide.
